A remarkable Pair of Meissen 'Vaisseau à mât' ship vase and cover. 

After the Sèvres pot pourri model, modelled in two sections, the base with lion masks at both ends, bowsprits protruding from their mouths, the rim pierced with holes, set on a scrolled base with four feet, the cover with a central mast hung with full pierced rigging, a pennant furling down from the top, all richly decorated with blue and gold ground colours, reserved with a Teniers-style scene painted in the reverse with a mixed bouquet of colourful flowers, further garlands hanging from the lion masks, the grounds and rims all richly gilt. Marked on the base with Mesissen signature.
